Oil pastels feel immediately expressive: waxy, saturated, a little unpredictable. They blend beautifully but they also have drag and texture and a certain resistance that makes every stroke feel deliberate. This set brings all of that into Procreate. 31 brushes built from real oil pastels, with pressure and tilt that respond the way you'd expect, and blending that works without smudgy fingers. This is Vol. 2, the deeper collection built on what I learned making the first set. Instant download.
What's in the Set (31 Brushes)
Blending and smooth coverage
-
Smooth Blend Brushes. Seamless gradients and soft transitions. For backgrounds, skies, and anywhere color should flow from one tone to the next.
-
Soft Velvety Brushes. Matte and atmospheric, closer to the chalky end of oil pastel. For building mood without harsh edges.
-
Gradient and Overlay Brushes. Broad, sweeping coverage with a realistic pastel finish. For laying in large areas or adding textured overlays.
Texture and character
-
Rough Edge Brushes. Bold, expressive strokes with that characteristic oil pastel drag.
-
Gritty and Grainy Brushes. The grit you'd get from pressing a pastel into rough paper.
-
Scratchy and Imperfect Brushes. Uneven marks that keep things from looking too digital.
-
Streaky and Dynamic Brushes. Built-in movement for expressive illustrations.
Detail and precision
-
Fine Detail Brushes. Precise strokes for intricate areas without losing the pastel quality.
-
Pressure-Sensitive Brushes. Light and airy or heavy and saturated, all in the same brush.
-
Highlight and Light Touch Brushes. Subtle detail and soft highlights with no color picking.
Depth and layering
-
Layered Stroke Brushes. Designed to be stacked. Each pass adds depth without muddying the color underneath.
-
Spotlight Brushes. Concentrated coverage that builds intensity as you layer. For focal points.
What Are These Oil Pastel Brushes Good For?
Illustration, landscape art, editorial work, children's books, mixed media, and any project where you want the richness of oil pastel without the mess. They're especially useful if you:
- Want a realistic oil pastel look in Procreate
- Work with layered color and need brushes that build without muddying
- Want more variety than a basic set offers
Vol. 1 or Vol. 2?
Vol. 1 is 9 brushes, the essentials, and the one I'd hand a beginner. Vol. 2 is 31 brushes and goes wider: more blending options, more textured surfaces, highlight and layering brushes that Vol. 1 doesn't have. If you're new to oil pastel brushes and want the essentials only, see Oil Pastel Vol. 1.

Questions People Ask
I own Vol. 1. Is Vol. 2 worth it?
Yes if you use oil pastel brushes regularly. The biggest additions are the smooth-blend and soft-velvety brushes, and the layered-stroke brushes that build depth without muddying the color underneath.
Can I use these brushes in work I sell?
Yes, with the Commercial or Extended license, chosen at checkout. Personal covers your own projects and portfolio.
Do these blend like real oil pastels?
They blend on the layer as you draw, no smudge tool needed. The Smooth Blend brushes give clean gradients; the Rough Edge and Gritty brushes keep the drag and texture that make oil pastel look like oil pastel.
Do I need an Apple Pencil Pro?
No. Every brush works with any Apple Pencil. Apple Pencil Pro adds barrel roll on the sets that support it.
